Banas Dairy to procure groundnut at MSP from farmers

Palanpur: The farmers of North Gujarat can heave a sigh of relief as Banas Dairy and GUJCOT (Gujarat State Co-Operative Cotton Federation Limited) will be procuring groundnut from them at minimum support price on behalf of the state government.
Banas Dairy chairman and state minister of health Shankarbhai Chaudhary said Banas Dairy will buy the groundnut in north Gujarat while GUJCOT will procure it from Saurashtra region. The farmers can sell their crops at 23 different centers set up in north Gujarat at MSP of Rs 4,220 per quintal.
To ensure that groundnut of standard quality the farmer needs to bring with him current years' 7/72 and 8-A (kharif 2016-17) forms which are stamped by mamlatdar/talatis. Also the farmer needs to show the sowing details per hectare. Farmer needs to submit a photo ID and copy of his bank pass book with IFSC code and account number. A certain quantity will be weighed and the amount will be credited to the concerned bank account everyday.
The groundnut will be procured from centers at Banaskantha, Vadgam, Dhanera, Tharad, Dhima, Thara, Palanpur, Deesa, Amirgad, Danta, Deodhar, Lakhni, Bhabhar, Radhanpur, Bhildi and Panthavada as well as areas from Mehsana district like Vijapur, Satalasana and Visnagar and Patan districts's Harij and Sidhpur as well as Manasa and Dehgam of Gandhinagar district.
